Situational Leadership Course Content


  • Get introduced to situational leadership and discover how it can assist you in your leadership role.

  • Assess your leadership skills: gain awareness of your leadership skills’ strengths, weaknesses and blind spots.

  • Discover the four different leadership styles (direct, coach, support, delegate) and work on their differences.

  • Become familiar with the four levels of maturity (low, medium, medium, high) and learn to diagnose those development levels in team members.

  • Identify the characteristics and needs of others in the 4 stages of development.

  • Develop an understanding of the negative consequences of under supervision or over supervision on performance and development.

  • Learn to assess the situation and behaviours of the team members to determine the leadership approach to use to get the best results.

  • Practice with case studies and real-life scenarios.

  • Understand the link between situational leadership & adult learning principles.

  • Develop key leadership skills: diagnosis, flexibility, partnering for performance, and diversity & change management.

  • Learn to adapt your own communication style when interacting with different team members, ensuring that your message is understood.

  • Work on your assumptions, beliefs, and personal perceptions for a better understanding of behavioural differences.

  • Practice diagnosing development level and using the four leadership styles.
